In this week's Malaysia news, this is an actual quote from a state deputy of the country's major Islamist party:

"Have we not learnt anything from it? To those who are interested in buying [Coldplay] tickets, even if you do not fear God, help the innocent ones so that they do not support this accursed program!"

Coldplay? Incurring the wrath of God? Wow, I bet no one saw this coming when listening to the skinny kid in the hood belting out that depressing song about a colour in the early 2000s. We sure didn't.

Past generations had the likes of Robert Johnson, Black Sabbath, Kiss and Judas Priest when it came to the devil's music. And now we've got Coldplay. How depressing....
