Hiking to Rupakot Temple

Yesterday's lunch might not have been the best chowmein we've ever tasted - although for the record it was much better than it looked, and the guys working at the restaurant were amongst the friendliest we've met in Nepal, which is really saying something - but we can't remember ever having a better view for a meal. Ever. And we've had lots of meals with lots of nice views over the years.

It was also ridiculously cheap, even by locals standards, given the location, ie on the top of a mountain, next to a luxury resort that charges $200 per night. Total cost for a 'half-plate' of veg chowmein, one black tea and one large bottle of water: 130rs or $1.00.

Definitely worth the two-hour hike to get there, the main goal of which was to visit the temple next door. However, we've once again buried the lede, as the unexpected star of the show turned out to be the toilet - of the humble squat variety - which just might very well have the best views of any toilet in the world. In fact, it was so impressive that it's going to require its own post at some point in the near future....
