Labour v Capital: Fewa Boat Association Edition

Don't be put off by all the text and info on this sign, it's just going to be a short rant against capitalism, which we'd meant to make last month upon first noticing it, but didn't manage to get a photo till yesterday, while back in Pokhara running some errands.

Even if you're well aware of the difference in value placed upon labour and capital, it's still always surprising to see it so starkly and clearly displayed as this:

"One Hour with Driver RS 900/-"

"One Hour Self RS 800/-"

In short, the owner of the boat is getting around $6.20 per hour of boat use, just for owning the boat, while the person rowing around tourists is getting $0.77. Also in short, modern capitalism is a total scam for the vast majority of people, especially in developing countries, and apparently even those who belong to associations....

Rant over. Next we'll be returning to our usual whimsical yet information travel anecdotes....
