Lala Noodles
The perfect late lunch after a long sweaty day of helping out (or at least trying to) at a local hipster arts fair and wandering around perusing second-hand clothing shops, while seeing what's changed in downtown KL over the past two years?
That's right, a piping hot bowl of the house specialty clam noodle soup, with an incredibly flavourful broth that's heavy on the taste of ginger and Chinese wine, but somewhat surprisingly (no complaints) light on the taste of clams. Mmmm mmmm.....
NB: Total cost for two large bowls and two iced teas: 30 ringgit or $6.82. Although not really, since most sit-down restaurants in Malaysia annoyingly follow the US' lead in hiding real prices on menus by writing ++ after them (ie plus service and plus tax), the final price at the register was 34.80 ringgit, or $7.91, which still isn't bad for a meal for two at a local institution just off the city's most popular/famous tourist street.....
