Patron Saint of Altitude Sickness

Conquering the 3152m Monserrate is much easier the second time around, especially if you've taken a full month to recuperate from your first ascent. Ah, and it also helps if you start from 2640m in central Bogotá, and of course wear the proper hiking attire (ie second-hand Chuck Taylors and jeans).

In addition to the exercise and breathtaking views, it's also a rewarding experience to reach the church at the top, which can be seen from all over the city and is aptly named after the Patron Saint of Altitude Sickness.....
